Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's Finance team remotely. This position, based in Kenya, will support UK operations and requires the candidate to work UK business hours (three hours behind Kenya time). The role involves managing and maintaining the company’s receivable and payable accounts, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial processes, and familiarity with IATA and BSP procedures within the travel industry.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Invoice Validation: Validate direct cost invoices by ensuring all travel costs are reconciled with the Concorde booking system. Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues directly with suppliers.
  • Accrual Management: Manage the booking system accrual report (Creditors Report) to ensure timely processing of supplier credits and investigate old accruals for resolution.
  • Overhead Invoice Processing: Ensure that overhead invoices are entered into the finance system promptly and reconcile them with supplier statements as needed.
  • Supplier Payments: Raise supplier payments in accordance with validated invoices, ensuring compliance with agreed credit terms and timely submission for payment.
  • Bank Account Verification: Confirm the legitimacy of new bank accounts and changes to supplier bank account details.
  • Inbox Management: Oversee the ‘Vendor Payments’ shared inbox to ensure timely processing of supplier invoices and statements.
  • Issue Escalation: Identify and escalate problematic accounts to the Finance Manager as necessary.
Minimum Requirements & Responsibility

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in finance or related field.
  • Experience of handling accounts payables in the travel industry.
  • Familiarity with IATA payment processes or experience in handling IATA transactions is highly desirable.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in effective purchase ledger management.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience in managing supplier expectations.
  • General experience working in a small accounts team is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting team colleagues when needed.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work, as daily tasks may vary based on workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and possess strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, utilizing initiative to prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward improving internal efficiencies and supplier relations.
  • Willingness to follow instructions while also contributing innovative ideas and solutions.
